The number of alligators in Pelahatchie Bay is becoming a problem so the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks has proposed a hunting season to help reduce the population.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reports that alligators can be found living in all 67 counties in the state.
While one officer used a safety hook to bring the gator to the edge of the pool, the other grabbed it and taped its mouth shut before it was relocated.
State College of Florida has posted additional alligator warning signs on its Venice campus after March 9 incident where an alligator attacked a dog.
"The sound of dogs barking and playing may draw an alligator to the area," the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.
