Alpharetta city leaders have thrown up their hands after two years and tens of thousands of dollars spent trying to preserve the sod from wear, tear and flooding. Alpharetta has given up on natural grass for its Town Green. After close to three years of rescue attempts, the city will tear out the grass and replace the one-third acre space with artificial turf.
