In the Aluva rape and murder of a 5-year-old girl case, a special POCSO court in Kerala has handed down a death sentence to Ashwaq Alam. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan praised the efficiency of the criminal justice system, emphasizing the stern message against child violence on Children's Day. While acknowledging the irreparable loss suffered by the parents, Vijayan assured the government's commitment to supporting them. ADGP (Law and Order) M R Ajith Kumar commended the rare speed of investigation and trial, completed within 100 days.
