The Labour Ministry of India had summoned Amazon for a hearing regarding the company’s Voluntary Separation Program plan sent out to Indian employees. The hearing was attended by the company’s representatives but employee representatives could not attend the meeting and requested a postponement.
Amazon Layoff: If reports are to be believed, a section of employees mostly in the L1 to L7 band in the company's Amazon’s Experience and Technology team have received a note stating they are eligible for the company’s Voluntary Separation Program (VSP).
As per reports, several Indian employees plan for Voluntary Separation Program (VSP), asking them to resign voluntarily instead of the company terminating their contract.

A complaint was filed by the employee union Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) saying the company was in violation of the laws.
