After cities say no to Chickasaw Ambulance Service proposal, council members, ambulance owner compromise

The new Chickasaw County Ambulance Council moved closer to reaching an agreement with the Chickasaw Ambulance Service during a lengthy meeting Tuesday, just one day after a number of city councils, including Nashua’s, rejected a proposal made by the service.
The two sides compromised on a number of issues, including the cost of the contract, during Tuesday night’s meeting and came up with a two-year contract that will pay the service $217,500 in the fiscal year beginning on July 1 and $228,402 in the second year of the contract. ....

Chickasaw County will leave intergovernmental body on June 30, 2021

The Chickasaw County Ambulance Council will have one less member midway through next year, thanks to a split vote by the Board of Supervisors on Monday.
Board members voted 3-2 to terminate its membership in the council that was formed in 1989 and to give the required 180 days notice after a relatively long discussion that grew contentious at times.
Board Chairman Jacob Hackman was joined by Tim Zoll and David Tilkes while Supervisors Jason Byrne and Steve Geerts, who serves as the chair of the Ambulance Council, voted against the motion. ....
