Govt not bound to abide by EU resolution: Sarwar

National May 7, 2021 TAXILA: Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government was not bound to abide by the European Union (EU) resolution. It decided to go to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for convincing the Muslim Ummah and the premier had given a clear statement on the issue. He was responding to the media here on Thursday at Taxila Bar after giving a cheque of one million rupees to the president, general sectary and other office-bearers of the Taxila Bar Association at a ceremony. He said: “The PTI [Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf] government is committed to bringing about electoral reforms for making elections credible and it is a must for political development in the country.”

Fake saint kills young boy in Taxila National March 11, 2021 TAXILA: A 16-year boy was brutally killed by a fake saint (peer) at the shrine of Bal Sharif in Khurrum Paracha union council in the limits of police station Taxila here Wednesday. Taxila police claimed to have arrested two suspects and investigation is under way. Heirs of slain boy put the dead body at Taxila Chowk and protested the killing of innocent boy. They refused to disperse without visit of MPA Ammar Saddique Khan who came and ensured the earliest arrest of culprits. Heirs of the slain told media that Nasir, 16, was missing for the last two days, adding that we could not find him anywhere.
