Patients often have discharge challenges before they start chemotherapy treatment
Patients from all over Uganda and neighboring regions travel to Kampala for treatment at the only public institution in the country that provides comprehensive cancer care. Despite improvements, many still don’t have a place to sleep.
With no money for a hotel or to travel the long distance home between treatments, patients were sleeping outside clinics. A new project is tackling the problem
