It wasn t anyone s decision.
Amy Rabenda s pivot, as Bordentown High School teacher Mike Brennan calls it “from guidance counselor to morale officer” wasn t imposed on her by anyone, except maybe herself.
“It s not what she s paid to do,” Brennan said. “No administrator is asking her to do it, but she s become our morale officer. She makes it her job; if she can help a kid or make a kid feel better, she s going to do it.”
And if she s going to do it for kids stuck at home by the coronavirus pandemic, or doing hybrid learning, it s going to take some creativity.
