Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 13 (ANI): Doctors at King George Hospital here managed to save the baby of a pregnant woman, just seconds before she succumbed to Covid-19 complications during the delivery, hospital officials said.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani appreciated the efforts of doctors who had on Saturday carried out an extremely challenging operation on the woman who was on ventilator and was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 related complications.
The nine-month pregnant woman Jayalakshmi was admitted to the hospital on June 2 and later moved to the ICU for ventilator treatment. "We couldn't save the mother after delivering the baby. The baby is healthy but unfortunately, the mother Jayalakshmi died with a severe lung infection due to COVID," doctors at the hospital said.

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], may 12 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and state Health Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas has said that around 30 per cent of medical oxygen are being wasted in hospitals and monitoring committees are being set up to see avoid its wastage.
Addressing the media after a meeting of Group of Ministers (GoM) on Wednesday, he also urged hospitals to monitor the oxygen supply and its utility so that the wastage can be minimised.

Maharaja Hospital Death Not Due To Oxygen Shortage: Vizianagaram DC

VIZIANAGARAM: Hari Jawaharlal, Vizianagaram district collector clarified that the death of two patients in Maharaja Central Hospital here was not due to glitches in oxygen supply, but due to COVID-19. Speaking to the media on Monday, the collector said the situation was in control now and around 25 COVID-19 patients on ventilator support were shifted to other hospitals in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts. 
He explained that at around 3 AM, there was a technical glitch in the supply of oxygen when the pressure levels came down creating problems in the supply. Meanwhile, the restoration works for the supply of oxygen is currently underway. There are 296 patients who are undergoing treatment in the hospital, he said.

Tirupati, March 4 : Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said there was a time when India was known as the Vishwa Guru (world guru) and urged students to regain the past glory.

Amaravati, March 3 : Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dharmana Krishna Das on Wednesday advised the protesting Amaravati farmers to meet Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, and assured them that justice will definitely be done.
The deputy CM made these remarks in reaction to the continuing indefinite protests being carried out by farmers from the Amaravati region against the trifurcation of the capital city across Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, and Kurnool.
