Blenheim couple attacked online as public vote turns wedding giveaway 'nasty'
Supplied Blenheim couple Shannon Hales and Andrew Root have been attacked online for trying to win a free wedding. Vying for a free wedding, and sitting in second place, Shannon Hales and Andrew Root decided to go all out for the win. They started hitting up friends and family in Blenheim, and in Australia where they were living before coming back to New Zealand, and posting on community groups to see if they could catch the leading couple. They were one of five finalists in the Marlborough Big Fat Free Wedding, with the overall winner coming from a public vote on Facebook.
