Winnipeg/IBNS: During this year’s Family Fishing Weekend from June 9-11, Manitoba families have been allowed free access to provincial parks as well as free family fishing, Natural Resources and Northern Development Minister Greg Nesbitt has announced in a news release.
Manitoba families have an extra day to cast a line into their favourite lakes for free during this year’s Family Fishing Weekend, June 9 through June 11.
Manitoba anglers are gearing up for walleye and sauger fishing season, which officially opens tomorrow in the southern fishing division, with the season opening one week later on Lake Winnipeg and in the Northwest and North Central fishing divisions.
Manitobans and visitors will be able to enjoy year-round fishing opportunities for certain species across the province starting April 1, Natural Resources and Northern Development Minister Greg Nesbitt recently announced.
There are still a few weeks before Manitoba anglers will be able to start the fresh-water fishing season, but the province says licensing in 2023 will be easier than ever.
