With the contract for a postmaster to take over running New Ross Post Office due to go out this week, questions remain about what, exactly, An Post’s plans are for the Charles Street premises, according to Cllr Michael Sheehan.
A 150-strong crowd turned out in New Ross on Saturday at noon to protest against any potential downgrading to the service at the post office.
Following an intervention by Minister of State James Browne and a campaign in New Ross, Charles Street will remain the location of the post office for the foreseeable time.
