National census data from Statistics Canada has given a thorough look at how many transgender and non-binary people live in Alberta.
Roughly 1 in 300 Canadians identifies as transgender or nonbinary, according to the country's 2021 census data released on Wednesday.
Of the more than 30.5 million Canadians aged 15 and over, 100,815 of them identify as transgender or non-binary. That's 0.33 per cent of total population, or about one in every 303 people.
