A program offering supports to youth with fetal alcohol syndrome and their families needs more funding to ensure it's more equally available in all of New Brunswick's 15 First Nations communities, according to Noel Milliea, a Mi'kmaw elder.
In his 25 years as a teacher in Nova Scotia, Grant Frost says he's found few supports for students with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. Given that the condition affects roughly 320 Nova Scotia children each year, he hopes there will be more resources for families and educators.
