A former Gold Coast property promoter who scammed investors, including pensioners, through a cold-calling scheme is jailed for more than eight years.

Former property investment spruiker Anthony Keith Silver has been sentenced to eight years and six months imprisonment for a $1.8 million fraud.
Pensioners were among those targeted by the scam, which saw some victims borrow against their homes to invest in Tasmanian property developments.
The man has pleaded guilty to one count of fraud and could face up to 12 years imprisonment. Following an investigation by ASIC, former Gold Coast investment scheme promoter Anthony Keith Silver has
