In the early hours of today (May 6) a large number vehicles parked on the roadside have had their windscreens smashed and other damage caused, totalling thousands of pounds in value, police said. It appears that offenders travelled between York and Tadcaster in a vehicle, damaging parked vehicles in various villages as they passed through. Firefighters rescue drivers from flood water FIREFIGHTERS have been called out to flooding at numerous properties across North Yorkshire. North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say they were called at 9.30am yesterday to Buttercrambe, Malton after flood water got in to the ground floor of a property there. They rescued two adults, two children, two dogs and a cat from the property using a triple extension ladder.
