How to choose a cloud serverless platform
From AWS Lambda and Azure Functions to Knative and OpenFaaS, we have at least a dozen functions-as-a-service platforms to choose from. Here’s how to navigate the options.

Review: AWS AI and Machine Learning stacks up
Amazon Web Services provides an impressively broad and deep set of machine learning and AI services, rivalling Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

Amazon Web Services claims to have the broadest and most complete set of machine learning capabilities. I honestly don’t know how the company can claim those superlatives with a straight face: Yes, the AWS machine learning offerings are broad and fairly complete and rather impressive, but so are those of Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

Finding the best way to get from Point A to Point B is easy if you’re drawing a straight line on a piece of paper, but when Point A is your computer and Point B is a website halfway around the world, things get a bit trickier.

CORPORATE CYBER ATTACKS ON THE RISE, MORE CYBER DEFENCE NEEDED IN POST-PANDEMIC WORLD
Interactive, Australia’s largest privately owned IT company, has launched a new managed cyber security offering using the world class, Microsoft Azure Sentinel product in response to an increase in corporate cyber threats and data breaches.
Global cyber security leader, Microsoft Solutions, tracks 8 trillion cyber threats a day while Australian Cyber Security Centre has warned of a “significant increase” in attacks on businesses since March 2020, estimated to cost $29 billion to Australian businesses. A recent report from Gartner recommended businesses should focus on partnering for cyber security rather than try to manage all the trillions of daily cyber threats themselves.

You’ll need the right attitude and the right hard and soft skills to feel like a winner in your software development career
Credit: Dreamstime
Computer programming is, you’ve no doubt heard, the ticket to a great career. It’s become a political cliché that workers in dying industries need to “learn to code.”
Doing so promises both professional fulfillment and lucrative compensation—or so goes the conventional wisdom. Listen to anyone, and they’ll tell you programmers are the winners in today’s job market.
