Briefs As COVID-19 Transmission Decreases, L.A. County Remains in Most Restrictive Tier The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) has confirmed 91 new deaths and 1,407 new cases of COVID-19. To date, Public Health identified 1,194,242 positive cases of COVID-19 across all areas of L.A. County and a total of 21,554 deaths. There are 1,502 people with COVID-19 currently hospitalized and 32% of these people are in the ICU.
