The 'ringleader' of Just Stop Oil has been sentenced to a month behind bars at Wandsworth prison - which is regularly described as one of the UK's worst jails.
The 'ringleader' of Just Stop Oil and a reverend who sowed his mouth together at one protest were beginning a month in HMP Wandsworth today - after being remanded in custody ahead of court.
Arne Springorum, 58, a Czech Republic-based Just Stop Oil protester who climbed onto a gantry above the M25 has appeared in court and admitted causing a public nuisance.
The protest, which has been shared as an event on Facebook with the slogan 'staying alive on the M25', is set to last from midday until 4am on February 20.
Demonstrators draped the huge placard - which was black with white writing on it - from the balcony in the central London court (pictured) before it was ripped down.
