When police arrived and attempted to restrain Sayers, he tried to kick his wife. While trying to arrest him, a tussle ensued and police requested back up. Sayers continued to resist arrest, trying to bite, kick and hit attending officers, the court heard. While police were putting Sayers into the police vehicle, he kicked an officer in the leg and spat in another’s face.
