Four Newtown artists exhibit locally under the name Liminal


Paul Kavanagh and Grace Garde decided to create a #supportlocal initiative and set up a local space for artists who had been impacted by Covid-19 restrictions so that the extent of local talent emerged.
They converted their derelict building on Newtownmountkennedy s Main Street into an art, craft and market space. All it needed then was a team of artists and craftspeople to bring their vision alive. The gallery, craft shop and marketplace was open until December 24.
The core team behind setting up the Gallery are a group of four Wicklow-based contemporary artists who have worked collaboratively for the last two years - Anne Walsh, Fabienne Herbert, Nessa McCormack and Christine Theobald. Strongly committed to deepening their art practice, and to see where they could push themselves, they joined resources to exhibit together. Having recently exhibited at the Signal Arts Centre in Bray, they enthusiastically embraced Paul and Grace s idea and an unlikely gallery was born. ....
