Campaigning is prohibited during the collection of signatures for candidate nominations, Minsk Deputy Mayor Artyom Tsuran said at a round-table meeting hosted by the BelTA press center to discuss the upcoming election campaign.
Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Artyom Tsuran talked about the advancement of relations with China. In particular, he said: “It is the first official delegation to come from one of our partner cities to Minsk. Minsk started developing relations with Chinese provinces quite a long time ago."
On 25 September, Police banned Minsk's New Life Church from meeting for Sunday worship in the car park of the building from which officials forcibly evicted it in February 2021. Police detained the Church's pastor Vyacheslav Goncharenko and another pastor Antoni Bokun. A judge fined each two months' average wage for leading the 18 September service which police had observed. Minsk City Executive Committee refuses to return the seized church building or allow the Church to meet for worship in the car park.
The Righteous Among the Nations Avenue was created in the Pit Memorial in Minsk in the late 1990s upon the initiative of former Minsk ghetto prisoners when the first few trees were planted and plaques with names of righteous people were installed.
