PETALING JAYA: A budding marine biologist is among the finalists for this year’s Commonwealth Youth Awards.
Mogesh Sababathy (pic), from Shah Alam, has been shortlisted along with 19 other extraordinary individuals from 18 countries.
The 23-year-old, who just completed his bachelor’s degree in marine biology at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), had been actively involved in environment-related activities since his early days at the university.
Focusing on the sustainable development goal (SGD) of “Life Below Water”, Mogesh co-founded Project Ocean Hope, a youth-led group that aims to raise the visibility of ocean issues and environmental conservation through campaigns and youth leadership training. ....
