Ashley LaFreniere, assistant at Pharmasave in Fort Frances, said after they give out the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, they are hoping to get a different approved one because they are still part of the pharmacy administration program. Ontario is not the only province to halt the AstraZeneca distribution. Within a week’s timeline, Alberta, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan placed similar restrictions around offering the first dose of AstraZeneca. ....

Staff Writer memara@fortfrances.com Fort Frances Pharmasave is set to begin administering the AstraZeneca vaccination to adults 55 years of age or older. Pharmasave will receive 200 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines today. They have a waitlist of over 500 individuals waiting in line for the jab. Ashley LaFreniere, assistant at Pharmasave, said they will be calling those on the waitlist to set appointments for tomorrow and on Monday. “There is going to be two nurses,” LaFreniere said. “They’re going to probably pump through 92 doses each day, so 92 on Friday and 92 on Monday, so it’s going to eat up most of them.” ....
