The Assam government has partnered with the State Bank of India (SBI) to provide financial assistance to 1,181 former rebels. Each individual will receive a fixed deposit of Rs. 4 lakhs and a loan of Rs. 3.2 lakhs against the fixed deposit as security. The Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, attended the distribution ceremony and emphasized the government's commitment to the upliftment of Adivasi communities.
