The Margherita Municipal Board (MMB) sealed the Segunbari Tea Factory in Tinsukia district due to substantial unpaid property taxes. The factory owned by Gautam Beria had accumulated property tax arrears amounting to Rs 4.9 lakh since 2018.
The proposed bill seeks to "prohibit and eliminate practices of magical healing in the name of treatment of some congenital diseases such as deafness, dumbness, blindness, physical deformity and autism".
