The police in Rivers State, south-south Nigeria have arrested the Chairman of the state chapter of the National Youth Council, Chijioke Ihunwo and 15 other pro-Governor Siminalayi Fubara supporters. According to Arise News, they were arrested over a disturbance of peace at the official residence of Martins Amaewhule, who was impeached on Monday by lawmakers loyal to Governor Fubara. Ihunwo and others were reportedly arrested after mobilising to stop an anti-Fubara protest at the Government House.
