The MIT researchers also built a machine that can melt the aluminum and hold the liquid metal before 3D printing large-scale objects.
Liquid metal printing, developed by MIT researchers, rapidly creates 3D metal structures by depositing molten aluminum along into a bed filled with microscopic glass beads. The process can produce low-resolution objects like frames for chairs and tables in minutes.
Over the past decade 3D printing has advanced from simple plastic objects to creating intricate designs with multiple materials to bioprinting living
Architects and designers reimagine products and buildings that are more sustainable and work in harmony with the environment.
