LAGRIMAS, GMA News Published January 13, 2021 11:38am Updated January 13, 2021 12:25pm The Makati Prosecutor s Office on Wednesday started its preliminary investigation of the criminal complaint against the men who were with flight attendant Christine Dacera hours before she died. Eleven respondents face a complaint for rape with homicide over the death of the 23-year-old Dacera on January 1, following a New Year s Eve celebration with friends. In the preliminary investigation, prosecutors will decide whether to file charges against the respondents in court. In a statement, the city prosecutor s office said seven out of 11 respondents and their lawyers attended Wednesday s hearing and five of them submitted a joint counter-affidavit.

Published January 6, 2021, 7:50 PM Christine Dacera (Instagram) Two celebrities have apologized on social media for using the term “rape” in their comments over the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera who was found unconscious at a hotel in Makati City on New Year’s Day. Celebrities Bianca Gonzales and social media influencer Kerwin King said that they were sorry for their emotional outbursts as they sought justice for the death of Dacera. On Twitter, Gonzalez said:  “I am one of those who posted using the term “rape” and the hashtag justice because the authorities said it was rape. I feel ashamed but also so confused with the conflicting reports. The call for justice remains, but justice to find the truth for both Christine and the accused.
