Optics and MEMS Technology for Better Fiber-Optical Communications
Associate Professor Niels Quack’s research group at the University of Sydney has created a new technology that combines optics and micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) in a microchip, opening the door to the development of gadgets like micro-3D cameras and gas sensors for accurate air quality measurement, including their use in mobile phones.
