RAW sewage that was spilling out of a manhole for more than three weeks in Sherfield English has finally been investigated. The sewage was discovered in Steplake Lane and since then the water company, Southern Water, has been urged to fix the problem, according to Cllr Nick Adams-King, who represents Blackwater on Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC). Court grants closure order for flat after anti-social behaviour A three-month closure order has been granted against a property in Puriton as a way of preventing crime and antisocial behaviour. Avon and Somerset Police’s antisocial behaviour and neighbourhood teams successfully worked together on the order, which was ratified by magistrates at North Somerset Courthouse on Monday 22nd February. NEW fire escapes that could help save dozens of lives have been approved for blocks of flats in Romsey. Residents living in flats off Broadwater Road and Banning Street will finally be given a second route to flee a fire with new steel staircases. The staircases will be erected on the side of each block to aid those living on the upper levels. This comes after a risk assessment in March 2020 revealed fire safety measures needed to be beefed up in the Mount Pleasant, Tadburn Green, Berthon House, Ashley House and St Mary's blocks, according to the housing company, Aster Group.
