Talley's opens all sites to WorkSafe for inspection after photos emerge

“Whilst having confidence in the existing health and safety programmes, any failings or shortcomings are identified or if there’s something our team has missed or can do better, we will act on it immediately,” he said.
WorkSafe announced on Saturday morning that it was planning to take a close look at how the Talley’s Group was meeting its obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act, after a whistle-blower came forward to TVNZ with photos of filthy conditions at Talley’s Ashburton factory on Thursday.
WorkSafe chief executive Phil Parkes said the group had a history of poor health and safety performance. The most recent was an incident a Talley’s plant in Ashburton where a worker’s hand was injured in a machine.
