The Atomic Interferometry Observatory and Network (AION), led by Imperial researchers, will accelerate research on dark matter and gravitational waves. The science of UKRI Technology and the Facilities Council (STFC) provided £ 7.2million in seed funding for the project under its new program Quantum Technologies for Fundamental Physics.
