DAVAO CITY - Davao Region's year-on-year regional inflation increased to 8.9 percent last month from 8.6 percent in July, the Philippine Statistics Office in Region 11 (PSA-11) said Friday. The PSA-11 said the increase is the highest recorded inflation since January this year. "The average inflation for the first six months of the year stood at 6.3 percent," it said in a statement. The increase is primarily attributed to the higher annual increment in the index for housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels at 8.9 percent.
