St. Augustine commissioners advanced an ordinance to adopt the city's mobility plan and mobility fee to its second reading.

The St. Augustine Commission voted 4-1 to allow the former Water Works building to be leased by the St. Johns Cultural Council.

City officials submitted a complaint to the Florida Commission on Ethics regarding Ernesto Torres' behavior following his wife's DUI arrest.

St. Augustine was recognized in part for its planning for sea level rise and flooding that threatens its historical resources.

"As one of the city’s capital improvement projects, this will contribute overall to the improvement of the wastewater collection system, the city’s resiliency, and its ability to withstand flooding and storm surge," according to the city.  Construction is expected to cost about $14 million, Slaughter said. The city expects FEMA to reimburse up to 75% of that and the state to reimburse 12.5% of the cost.
