KOTA KINABALU: A rescued elephant calf was euthanised on Wednesday (March 10) after months of health complications. The female calf, named Nita, was rescued from a palm oil estate in Tawau district about 20 months ago when it was just a month old. It is believed that Nita's herd left it behind during an elephant control operation conducted by the authorities as it could not keep up with them.
