Special Weather Statement Issued for Sweetwater County, Portions of I-80 Remain Closed

SWEETWATER COUNTY — The National Weather Service (NWS) Riverton Office has issued a Special Weather Statement for Sweetwater and southern Lincoln counties for snow and gusting winds. According to the NWS, today, Sweetwater County residents can expect show showers with possible accumulations of 1-2 inches. West winds could gust as high as 50 to 55 mph possible, especially in eastern Sweetwater County. “Motorists are urged to watch for rapid changes in visibility as well as slick and snow covered roads.
