Something Good: Newalla Teen's Passion for Horses Turns Competitive
By: Brian Mueller One of the first words Avery Proffitt ever said, turned out to be prophetic. "We knew that she had to have horses. I think it was maybe her second word," Avery’s Mom Tessa Proffitt said. After asking for one every year, Avery's wish was granted when she turned nine. "I was really happy, I started crying, and ran and gave my parents a big hug," Avery said. Seven horses later, Avery is now taking the reins in training. "She's always seeking more information every day," Tessa said. "There's something to learn about horses every single day.
