Mumbai: The ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB) has constituted the animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) promotion task force to promote the AVGC sector in the country. The government’s intention to form the task force was first made in the union budget 2022-23.
India can capture 5 per cent or around $40 billion of the global market share in the animation, visual effects, gaming and comic (AVGC) sector by 2025, according to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Mumbai: The Indian media and entertainment industry is valued at $28 billion and is projected to reach $100 billion by 2030 growing at a cumulative growth rate of 12 per cent, said the ministry of information and broadcasting secretary Apurva Chandra. Chandra was addressing a roundtable organised by the India Pavilion at the Dubai Expo.
At the Union Budget 2022 session, Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman said that an AVGC (animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics) promotion task force will be set up in India to employ youth creators.
