State advises burning debris early in fire season
As burn permits have become available since the start of fire season on April 1, state officials warn against burning items too late in the season. âBurn debris early in the season when the ground is still wet and fire danger is low, instead of waiting until later in the spring or summer when conditions are drier,â the Alaska Division of Forestry said in a press release. Small- and large-scale burn permits are available through August 31.
