Neuronal diversity: a possible antidote to neurological diseases?
The diversity of our neurons could make us less vulnerable to the changes brought about by certain diseases, including epilepsy: this was the major discovery made by a French-Canadian team whose members included Axel Hutt, director of research at the Inria branch at Strasbourg. Based on new mathematical models, their research was recently featured in the prestigious journal PNAS.
