Bars and restaurants have been struggling with staffing since the pandemic began. Many of these businesses are gearing up for a busy weekend.

It's the second year for the Backyard Ale House's free item giveaway - when anyone can come in and grab free food, coats, toys, and any items they may need.

Tuesday marked the Forever Sammi Foundation’s fourth annual clothing and blanket drive for the homeless. It was the first with no clothing and blankets. Instead, volunteers packed durable plastic pouches with winter hats, gloves, socks, disposable face masks, hand sanitizer and information on where to turn for help in a hard world.
