Committee's interest in agriculture sector vital - ARAB TIMES

Sector entrusted to ensure food security
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: The head of the National Assembly’s Agricultural and Food Security Committee, Dr Badr Al-Dhahoum said Agricultural Committee’s interest in the agricultural sector is of great importance because this sector is entrusted to ensure food security, during which the Kuwaiti farmer has proved his responsibility during the crises the country is going through. He said this was best evidenced and witnessed during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis that created turmoil in Kuwait and all over the world when each country shut the doors for the outside world to protect itself from the infections.

Why Kuwait government resigned less than a month after formation

Abu Dhabi: About a month after its formation on December 14, the Kuwaiti government submitted its resignation Tuesday to Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled.
Al Khaled, in turn, must submit his government’s resignation to the Emir, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah.
Government spokesman Tareq Al Muzrim said that the ministers had submitted their resignations to the Prime Minister and placed it at his disposal.
Kuwaiti media reported that the resignation of the government is expected to be accepted, with the existing government tasked with disposing of urgent matters until the formation of the new government.
This step came after three deputies in the parliament that was elected on December 5, and whose formation was dominated by opposition representatives, submitted a motion to question the prime minister on January 5, due to lack of cooperation with the National Assembly.
