Crucial 1979 peace treaty with israel. so, i think that s the concern throughout the region. okay. let s get to the other topic i want to discuss with you, admiral mullen s trip to the persian gulf region this week. he ll be meeting with bahrain s king. what do you think admiral mullen is going to say to the king? well, you know, mullen s a very capable guy, along with secretary bob gates. he s going to try to reassure people the u.s. navy s fifth fleet is the dominant military force of the united states and the international community in the straits of hormuz. that s billions of dollars worth of oil flowing out to the persian gulf, you know, each day. so, what he s going to try and do is reach out to the sunni royal family and say, look, you ve got to try and quell these demonstrations, but to do it lawfully and not with extreme violence. those bahrainan security forces, 12,000 of them, aren t even ....
Pearl square. do you know that is why the bahrainan authorities feel they can fire on its own people because it s not going to be seen as easily? it s partly true. they can see some pictures coming oust bahrain. not the same in libya. we don t see many pictures coming out of libya. bahrain, there is another factor here. it is that the army there is not from bahrainans themselves. they re from pakistan, yemen and other sunni countries because they feel like they give them citizenship in bahrain, they can increase the percentage of the sunnis there to give them a balance. that s interesting in this country. bahrainans make up, what, only about half of the palm lagz? something like this because the foreigners who are there who work represent a real percentage. but they don t have a say in government, they don t have a say in the way the constitutional rights, there is not provided for people who work in bahrain. so the problem is mainly between ....
