The programme has a new name since it was rebranded. According to Minister Dolores Balderamos Garcia, the seventy-five to eighty dollars grocery kits are about to start rolling into homes across the country. Jul 8, 2021 Youth Hostel Undergoes Facelift and Change of Image Six months ago we took you to the youth hostel at mile twenty-one on the George Price Highway in Rockville. You’ll recall the deplorable conditions of the facility, shown by the Ministry of Human Development. They promised to make the necessary upgrades to the facility. Well, they made good on that promise. Today the press was invited out to the hostel for a tour.
Andrea Polanco, Reporting This is what the Princess Royal Youth Hostel looks like today – bright and cheery. It got a face-lift with a fresh coat of paint; new furniture; and fully refurbished restrooms and public spaces including a counseling room. But this renovation became necessary because back in December the home was in a deplorable state. According to Minister Dolores Balderamos Garcia, the hostel is getting a full rehabilitation from the physical upgrades to programmatic changes. ....
Jul 8, 2021 Dolores Balderamos Garcia The Ministry of Human Development is trying to rehabilitate the image of the youth hostel with major infrastructural and programmatic changes. But there is also new staff placed in key positions at the youth hostel. Anne Palacio was introduced today as the director of programmes at the facility. The hostel falls under the community rehabilitation department of the ministry but that department has been without a director for some time. Noticeably absent was senior personnel Maureen Williams who is the Deputy Director. Today, Minister Balderamos-Garcia was asked why Williams and other seniors didn’t attend the tour. ....
Jun 30, 2021 The New National Commission for Families and Children The National Committee for Families and Children, now a commission, has a new composition. It will now include a representative from the LGBTI community as well as Autism Belize to ensure that there is inclusivity at the discussion table when it comes to making decisions on the rights of families and children.
