Three men have been arrested after a loaded firearm was thrown from a speeding car being pursued by gardaí in west Dublin. Last night at around 8.30pm gardaí came across a vehicle driving at speed through the Corduff area of the city and pursued the car. A short time later it was found abandoned in the Wellview Grove area while the three men in the car fled on foot. Gardaí were called to a filling station in Glencar at approximately 9.40am on Sunday morning after the man entered the premises armed with what appeared to be a gun. The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested after a stolen car was intercepted by gardai in Donegal town shortly after the incident and the driver was detained. Gardai say a man entered a shop in Glencar, Co Donegal at approximately 9:40am today and threatened staff with what appeared to be a gun before taking a quantity of cigarettes and cash.
