Balochistan trying to meet high oxygen demand
Government dismisses concerns over shortage of cylinders across province

With Covid-19 cases soaring in Balochistan, the demand for oxygen has also increased significantly. However, oxygen supplies at government hospitals in the provincial capital Quetta are either inactive or insufficient because the government has not fulfilled prior financial commitments to private companies for these oxygen cylinders.
Most of the cases of coronavirus are being reported from just seven districts across the province, including the most populated Quetta, due to which the need for oxygen has also increased.
Oxygen supplies for Covid-19 patients at the Fatima Jinnah Hospital are inactive. However, the provincial authorities have issued a tender for a new oxygen plant for the facility. The oxygen plant at BMC Hospital is operating at minimum capacity despite the health emergency while the plants at the Sheikh Zayed Hospital and Civil Hospital,
Balochistan reports 173 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

QUETTA (Dunya News) - At least 173 more persons were tested positive for coronavirus in Balochistan on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infected patients to 22,118 in the province, Dunya News reported.
According to a report released by the Balochistan Health Department, 718,750 people were screened for the virus till April 28, out of which 22,118 were reported positive and 173 in the last 24 hours.
Balochistan Health Department also informed that 20,530 affected patients have recovered from the coronavirus so far while there are 1,355 active cases in the province.

At least 225 persons have so far died of coronavirus in Balochistan.
QUETTA (Dunya News) - At least 127 more persons were tested positive for coronavirus in Balochistan on Tuesday, bringing the total number of infected patients to 21,127 in the province, Dunya News reported.
According to a report released by the Balochistan Health Department, 702,762 people were screened for the virus till April 20, out of which 21,127 were reported positive and 127 in the last 24 hours.
Balochistan Health Department also informed that 19,897 affected patients have recovered from the coronavirus so far while there are 986 active cases in the province.
COVID-19 claims one more life, infects 82 others in Balochistan

QUETTA (Dunya News) - Coronavirus has claimed one more life in Balochistan on Thursday, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 222 in the province, Dunya News reported.
At least 82 more persons were tested positive for the deadly disease in the province in the last 24 hours, raising the total number on patients infected by the COVID-19 to 20,662 in the province.
According to a report released by the Balochistan Health Department, over 694,183 people were screened for the virus till April 15, out of which 20,662 were reported positive and 82 in the last 24 hours.
