ZAMBOANGA CITY - A town official in Lanao del Sur has turned over three high-powered firearms, yielded to him by residents, to military authorities as the government continues its campaign against the proliferation of loose firearms. MANILA - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said it is ready to hold special elections in 12 barangays in Tubaran, Lanao del Sur on Tuesday. Military and police personnel have been deployed in 14 barangays in Lanao del Sur, where special elections will be conducted.
