More Construction Workers Test Positive for Drug Usage

The rate of positive drug test results among America’s workforce reached its highest rate last year since 2001 and was up more than 30 percent from an all-time low in 2010-2012, according to a new analysis released today by Quest Diagnostics. The rate among construction industry workers grew 12.2 percent in 2021 to 4.6 percent, up from 4.1 percent in 2020. Positivity rates for marijuana grew 16 percent, from 2.5 percent in 2020 to 2.9 percent last year.
