Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in a major revelation, said that the investors of the Barsu refinery have moved to Pakistan.
Devendra Fadnavis claimed that the protests against the Barsu refinery project in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri drove investments away to Pakistan.
Interacting with villagers at Barsu, Thackeray said the government should hold a dialogue with locals before coming up with any project. A section of locals is opposing the refinery on the grounds that it will adversely affect the fragile biodiversity of the coastal Konkan region and also hit their livelihood.
He also claimed that not many local villagers were present during meetings with Uddhav Thackeray.
Villagers from Rajapur taluka have been protesting against the proposed refinery contending it was violative of their fundamental rights.
